China recently bought soybeans in batches from the United States, according to a statement published on the Sinograin official website.
The state-owned enterprise said purchase aims to implement the consensus reached by President Xi Jinping and President Donald Trump that the two nations will not impose new additional tariffs, as agreed during a working dinner following the conclusion of the G20 summit in Buenos Aires earlier this month.
The statement didn't mention the volume of the purchase.
Private exporters reported sales of nearly 1.2 million metric tons of soybeans for delivery to China this week to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, following shipments of over 1.4 million metric tons last week, according to Xinhua.
